In Memory

Mary Lou Gallagos

Mary Lou Gallagos

Mary Lou was a person that loved people and went out of her way to help them. That was never more evident than the last few years she spend helping the troops in Iraq. Mary Lou had received numerous awards commending the service that she gave  improving the life of the soldiers and civilians in support of Operation Iraq Freedom. Even though she was not in the military, that did not stop her in serving her country and help make this a better world. She was a awesome person and will truly be missed and never forgotten.

Mary Lou was living next door to my parents for several years. She was very good to my parents and a terrific neighbor. It doesn't surprise me that she served her country and I know that whoever life she touched, will remember her for her sweetness and kindness.  Rest in peace my friend.

Life happens fast! Mary Lou and I were friends. I remember her like a teenager. Turned into a compassionate, courageous, generous spirit.

Gee, I just can't say enough of my friend,  Mary Lou,  I came from Tech my first/last year as a Sr.  She told Mr. Salcido Band Dir. also from Tech that she would look out for me and introduce me to other Tighers.  Well just to let you know we became very good friends & we call ourselves sister.  Her warm smile, tone of voice, her gesters I can go on on on.  We were also in ROTC, couple of classes together and in Graduation we said our goodbys with hugs and tears.    We left school and we said we would keep in touch, then,  I moved to Washington D. C. after I graduate from UTEP.  I came to El Paso and I went looking for her at the Civic Center and we had lunch.  I still so that strong but warm person doing for the community.  We said our good-byes and said we would keep in touch.  I moved to L.A. Calif. and I came back to El Paso & she was on vacation.  Next news was that she was gone, I know and thanks to Robert, I heard she had passed away.  What a great loss, because she really care.  May God have her in a good place and personally speaking she will be in my prayers.  May her family find confort and feel she is still here with us.  Let's not forget such and beautiful young lady that she turn out to be.  Best Regards to her Family & Circle of Friends.angel
