Leo was the old classmate that I ran into most often over the years, mainly at UTEP basketball games.  He was a genuinely nice person who was always in a cheerful mood.  What we tend to remember over the years are the warm hearted people we have met - and Leo was certainly one - may he Rest In Peace.

I will always remember Leo as being a kindhearted individual. He was the type of person who always went out of his way to extend a greeting and make you feel you were his friend. I would see him and his wife on Sundays at St. Patick's Church. Always with a smile and a warm greeting. He would keep me updated on any upcoming EPHS events. I will miss seeing him at church. May you rest in peace my kndhearted friend.

My deepest condolences to the Hurtado Family for your loss of "Lipo".  I say his nick name with much love.  I have known Lipo since the 3rd grade at Vilas Elementary.  Lipo was the first to greet me & welcomed me thru the fifth grade.  We met up again at EPHS as freshman thu our graduating "Class of '70".

Lipo certainly left an ipression with my family.  It was fun witnessing him answering my kids questions about me.  Lipo remembered more things than I could.  He was my /our EPHS historian with a sense of humor he never out grew.

A messgae to his family, Moses, Maurisa, & Kathy:

His presence will be forever in your hearts.  You will be sharing his spirit with others.  Keep his spirit alive among you & enjoy the smiles, the laughter, & the tears.

I as his friend I will.

Much Love,

Raul Gonzalez
